Easy guide to maximizing your phone RAM

Everybody has a smartphone these days, and some have a smartphone for quite a while. If you have a smartphone, and optimally use it, you tend to download a lot of data into your device thus slowing down the device, sometimes drastically. The RAM or Random Access Memory which is where your phone stores the data it be problematic as you are using the device.

The main reason may be low internal memory or RAM. If you also run many applications at the same time your phone may freeze after the RAM slows down.

Maximizing your phone RAM:

  1. Limit widgets and wallpaper

Widgets and wallpapers take up a lot of RAM because they often refresh occupying bandwidth, some are slowly active thus draining your battery faster.

  1. Disabling Applications

Whether you are using an application or not, big applications take up lot of RAM. Even if you are not using an app, it unnecessarily slows down the device by taking up RAM space. In this case you can determine which application to run, and which application you can disable. This will take time but it is worth the effort.

To disable an application:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Apps/Application Manager.
  3. Tap the All.

Here you will get the list of all the applications currently running on your phone. When you want to select an application you don’t need running

  1. Tap on it.
  2. Tap Disable, and then confirm by tapping OK.

Applications that do not come pre-installed in your device are easy to disable. Besides if you disable everything, your phone may not work as you intend it to.

  1. Disabling Animations

Animations take a lot of space and is often unnecessary. You can manage animations, slow them down, or switch them off.

To enable Developer Options on your device:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on About Phone for up to seven times.

It notifies you that you became a Developer.

This has no damaging effect on your phone, but it only adds the Developer Options in your settings.

  1. Go back to Settings tab.
  2. Tap on Developer Options.
  3. Choose the below options and select Turn off:
  • Window animation scale
  • Transition animation scale
  • Animator duration scale

The RAM on your device will successfully slow down.
